Prohibited Dog Breeds

Australia prohibits aggressive dog breeds that are specially bred for fighting. Bringing such dogs into Australia is not permitted by law. These prohibited dog breeds include:

  • Dogo Argentino
  • Fila Brasileiro
  • Japanese Tosa
  • Perro de Presa Canario or Presa Canario
  • Pit Bull Terrier breeds, including American Pit Bull Terrier
